Curaline scans food, beauty, and household product barcodes and labels to give you a Clean Score (0-100) with plain-language explanations, personalised to the health goal you choose.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and giving you control over your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: if you create an account, we collect your email address.
Scan data: barcodes, product details, and your Clean Scores. This is stored locally on your device for fast offline access.
User preferences: your selected health goal.
Anonymous usage data: to improve the app (analytics only).

We do not collect menstrual cycle data, symptom logs, or any other highly sensitive health information in the current version.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide the barcode scanning and scoring features.
To personalise your experience based on your chosen goal.
To maintain and improve the app.

3. Data Storage & Protection - Local-First Architecture

Your scan history lives on your device by default. Cloud sync is completely optional and fully encrypted. You must explicitly authorise any backup.

We do not sell your personal data. Ever.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal data with third parties except:

Service providers who help operate the app under strict confidentiality.
As required by law.

5. Your Rights

Access, correct, or delete your data from the Profile screen at any time.
Clear the local on-device cache via device settings.
Request data export or deletion by emailing support@curaline.app.

6. Children's Privacy

Curaline is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

7. International Users

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. By using the app you consent to this transfer.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will notify you via the app.
